Painting a home gray looks nice if there is already some gray elements in the area, so example if there is a rock bluff in the background. Otherwise, on a green street with lots of colorful houses a gray exterior can seem drab. There's a time and a place for a nice gray exterior though. I love the look of the house in this image.
